SUBJECT: RFP for EMS Collection Services

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request permission to solicit proposals for future EMS collection
services and approve the selection committee.
BACKGROUND: Professional Adjustment Corporation of S.W. Florida, Inc. (PAC) has
provided the collection service on delinquent accounts for Okaloosa County EMS since
September 28, 2000. The last renewal on the existing contract will extend EMS collection
services with PAC through September 30, 2014.
The Department requests permission to solicit prospective bidders for proposals to provide future
EMS collection services. An official selection committee has been identified to review the
proposals; the members are as follows: Tracey Vause, EMS Division Chief; Michelle Huber,
Office Supervisor; and Laurel Stewart, EMS Billing Coordinator. Jack Allen from Okaloosa
County Purchasing will provide guidance to the selection committee.
OPTIONS: Approve/disapprove.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the Department to solicit proposals from prospective
bidders for future EMS collection services, and approve the selection committee identified.
