BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: October 6, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: James Puckett SUBJECT: Okaloosa County Administration Building Deductive Change Order #14 DEPARTMENT: Facility Maintenance BCC DISTRICT: 2 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request BCC approval of a Deductive Change Order ( #14-10) to Lord & Son’s Contract for the Okaloosa County Administration Building in the amount of $79,434.90. This deduction is due to utilization of the Owner Direct Purchasing Program. BACKGROUND: Owner Direct Purchasing (ODP) is a program that allows the County to use its tax exempt status to purchase materials utilized in its contracted construction projects in order to save the sales tax. This tax savings is then deducted from the contractor's contracted price. The amount deducted from the contractor's contract includes the cost of the materials, shipping, and sales tax. At the beginning of the project to construct the Okaloosa County Administration Building, the County opted to utilize the ODP to reduce the final project cost. As materials have been identified and requisitioned for the project, deductive change orders have been processed to account for the direct County purchases. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the request for approval of Deductive Change Order #14-10 to Lord & Son’s Contract #C12-1995-FM on the Okaloosa County Administration Building in the amount of $79,434.90 as a part of the Owner Direct Purchasing Program. RECOMMENDATIONS: Approval of Deductive Change Order #14-10 to Lord & Son’s Contract #C12-1995-FM on the New Admin Building in the amount of $79,434.90 as a part of the Owner Direct Purchase Program.
