Subject: April 14 Sister City Agenda Item
Attachments: Sample_ Sister _City_Agreement_ Belluno.pdf; Sister City Agreement Between The Cities of Kristinehamn. doc
I' ve attached two documents as back -up for the April 14 Council meeting discussion on Kristinehamn as a Sister City. The
first is an example of a Sister City Agreement. The second is a draft proclamation establishing the Sister City.
In addition to our presentations, Erik and I have arranged for presentations from the EDC ( Kay Rasmussen), Enterprise
Florida ( Andrea Moore), UWF ( Dr Rita Crider), and Liza Jackson School. These presenters will be available to provide additional
background on the potential impacts to our area and partnering initiatives that have already been arranged.
There will be a financial commitment to the Sister City program, which must also be considered and approved by Council.
There are two immediate, current fiscal year costs —the registration fee ($ 499) for the Swedish- American Chamber of Commerce
sponsored Enterprise Days ( E -Days) in Savannah GA, Apr 20 -23, and travel expenses associated with presenting the Sister City
documents in Kristinehamn, Jun 18 -25 ( approximately $ 2000). 1 would propose, if the Sister City relationship is approved, any
future visits be every two years.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please let me know.
Thanks,
Mike
