A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING THE
OLD CITY HALL COMPLEX AS A CITY HISTORIC SITE,
AND PROVIDING THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the old City Hall Complex located on 17 First
Street, SE, was
originally built in 1949; and
WHEREAS, beginning in 1950,
the old City Hall Complex
originally housed the City Manager, City Clerk, Public Work
Director, Tax, Water, Accounting and Fire Departments; and
WHEREAS, the old City Hall Complex has become a part
of the historical background of our
community; and
WHEREAS, in the interest of preserving the memories of
the past in order to make them a part of our future;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION I. That the old City Hall Complex be
designated as a City historic site and a permanent marker be
placed on the site.
SECTION II. This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon approval by Council and signature by the Mayor.
