RESOLUTION 2025- 24
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON
BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING FUNDING THROUGH FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION ( FDOT) FOR DISTRACTED DRIVING PREVENTION;
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE ACCEPTANCE DOCUMENT(S);
AUTHORIZING A BUDGET AMENDMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation ( FDOT) provides funding to
improve traffic safety; and
WHEREAS, the City is eligible to participate in this competitive grant program and has
applied for and been awarded a project total of$20, 000 ($ 20,000 grant funds and $ 0 City match)
for Distracted Driving Prevention; and
WHEREAS, City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the citizens of Fort
Walton Beach to participate in the FDOT Traffic Safety Grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute the grant award; the City
Manager or Police Chief to execute all necessary documents to complete grant-related purchases;
and a budget amendment to record the grant within the General Fund.
