AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5- 12
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY
OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, TO ADOPT
THE 1971 EDITION OF THE SOUTHERN STANDARD
PLUMBING CODE AS AMENDED AND REVISED,
REPEALING THE CONFLICTING PROVISIONS OF
THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON
BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 5- 12 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Fort Walton Beach is hereby
amended to read as follows:
There is hereby adopted by the City, for the purpose
of establishing rules and regulations for the construction,
installation, alteration, and maintenance of properly designed,
acceptably installed, and adequately maintained plumbing sys-
terns, that certain plumbing code known as the Southern Standard
Plumbing Code, 1967 Edition with 1971 revision, as amended and
revised by the Southern Building Code Congress, and the provi-
sions of this plumbing code shall be controlling in the
construction, installation, alteration and maintenance of
plumbing systems in the corporate limits of the city.
SECTION 2. Any provisions of the City Code of
Ordinances which conflicts herewith are repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect thirty
30) days after its passage and approval by the Mayor.
