RESOLUTION 2006- 03 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FL; OPPOSING ANY BRIDGE ALIGNMENTS CURRENTL Y PROPOSED BY THE EMERALD COAST BRIDGE AUTHORITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fort Walton Beach held a Special Council Meeting on February 6, 2006 to discuss an alternative Brooks Bridge alignment; and WHEREAS, well over one hundred people attended the meeting; and when asked by a member of the public to stand if they opposed all bridge alignments, a majority of those in attendance stood to be recognized as opposing all alignments currently proposed; and WHEREAS, the City Council received public comment from over 20 people speaking in opposition to all currently proposed bridge alignments; and WHEREAS, a motion was appropriately made and seconded by City Council; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH: Section 1. That the City of Fort Walton Beach will not support, and will vigorously oppose, any bridge alignments currently proposed. Section 2. A copy of this Resolution shall be presented by the Mayor of the City of Fort Walton Beach to the Emerald Coast Bridge Authority at their February 7, 2006 monthly meeting. Section 3.
