3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, TO
4 SUBMIT TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
5 LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND GRANT PROGRAM AN
6 APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO
7 FORT WALTON LANDING PARK; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

9 WHEREAS, one of the City' s
purposes is to provide outdoor
10 recreational sites and facilities for the use and benefit of the
11 public; and
12
13 WHEREAS, the city is committed to provide an adequate,
14 environmentally sound and cost effective recreation and open
the City; and
15 space system for all residents and visitors to
16
17 WHEREAS, the City shall continue its efforts to ensure that
18 all recreation facilities are accessible by all groups, including
19 the handicapped and physically disabled; and
20
21 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fort Walton Beach
22 wishes to apply to the Florida Department of Environmental
23 Protection Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant Program for
24 financial assistance to increase the recreational facilities
25 available to the public.

27 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
28 FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA;

30 SECTION I. The City Manger is hereby authorized on behalf
31 of City of Fort Walton Beach to submit an application to the
the
32 Florida Department of Environmental Protection Land and Water
33 Conservation Fund Grant Program and, following approval by the
34 Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection, shall
35 enter into a proj ect agreement with the Florida Department of
36 Environmental Protection to implement the grant project.

38 SECTION II. The City Manager of the City of Fort Walton
39 Beach hereby authorized
