STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to begin negotiation with Airbus DS
Communications for the maintenance and support for the E911 system/network (RFP PS 13-16).
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On November 17, 2015, the Board of County Commissioners
authorized a request for proposals for the maintenance services for the E911 system/network.
Four (4) proposals were received and were ranked by a review committee consisting of Public
Safety staff and other County representatives. Based on the rankings by the review committee,
Purchasing is recommending that the County begin contract negotiations with Airbus DS
Communications as the top-ranked vendor. Upon successful negotiation, the proposed contract
will be brought back before the Board for approval. If negotiation is not successful with the top
ranked vendor staff will commence negotiations with Ryan Public Safety Solutions as the next
highest ranked vendor.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny to begin contract negotiation with Airbus DS Communications for
the maintenance and support for the E911 system/network.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval to begin contract negotiation with Airbus
DS Communications for the maintenance and support for the E911 system/network.
