NATURE OF. THE WORK TO BE DONE, AND AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE. TRANSFER OF’ SUCH FUNDS TO.
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF OKALOOSA
COUNTY, FLORIDA, } FOR SEC. WORK. :
FHEREAS, it is necessary to the health of the inhabitants of —
the City of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, that a program be instituted.
for the control of mosquitoes, sand-flies and other arthropods, and
EREAS, the City of Fort Walton Beach is without funds to
alone carry on a program of the size actually necessary to the con-
trol of mosquitoes, sand-flies and other arthropods in the City of
Fort Walton Beach, and
: AS, the State Board of Health is now ‘authorized by law to
assist counties in mosquito-contrel programs, but is without
authority to assist municipalities, and
_ WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Okaloosa County
have evidenced a desire to undertake ‘@ program for the complete
eradication of mosquitoes, sand-flies and other arthropods in the
City of Fort Walton Beach, but are without funds with which to match
the aforesaid State aid available te counties for such program, and
WHEREAS, in order to take advantage of the fund available from
the State Board of Health it is then determined that it is to the
best interest of the said city and of the county that the funds |
available to the city be placed at the disposal of the Board of
County Commissioners and that the program planned by the city be
carried out by the Board of County Commissioners in order to take
advantage of the State aid available.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF FORT WALTON
BEACH, FLORIDA: - | ——
. SECTION L. There is hereby appropriated from the general funds

Beach, by draining and spraying the breeding place or places of
such insects, within the said city and without the said city, and
the institution of sanitary land-bill method of disposing of
we.
garbage in the said city and adjacent area.
SECTION 2. The aforesaid total appropriation shall be broken
down and expended as follows: $1,000.00 for equipment purchase;
$2,500.00 for the purchase of spray and other chemicals; $3,040.00 |
shall be expended for labor; $2,700.00 shall be expended for super-
vision; 1,429. 11 shall be expended for gas, oil, and equipment
maintenance, and ($407. 36 shall be expended for miscellaneous ex-
penses. necessary for the purposes herein stated. —
SECTION 3 The funds herein approprhated shall be turned over
to the Clerk of the Circuit Court in and for Okaloosa County,
Florida, upon his requisition, for expenditure by the Board of
County Commissioners of Okaloosa County in accord with this reso-
lution and in accord with the map designating area to be drained,
attached hereto and made a part hereof.
