SUBJECT: Public Hearing Request - Okaloosa Island MSBU Additional Street Light

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request to schedule a public hearing on February 18, 2014 to
receive input regarding the addition of a street light at 614 Pelican Dr., Ft. Walton Beach, within
the Okaloosa Island Municipal Services Benefit Unit (MSBU).
BACKGROUND: A request for an additional street light was made by Ann Forrest who resides
at 614 Pelican Dr. to the Okaloosa Island MSBU Committee. The request was presented,
discussed, and approved by the Okaloosa Island Leaseholders Association at a meeting held
November 11, 2013. Due to existing Gulf Power infrastructure at the requested site there are no
installation fees. The monthly fee of $6.04 will be absorbed by the MSBU and no additional
assessment will be required. A public hearing is being requested to allow interested parties to
voice any comments or concerns.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove the public hearing.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve a public hearing to be held on February 18, 2014 to receive
comments concerning the installation of an additional street light at 614 Pelican Dr.
