214 / \/ ORDINANCE NO. 82 AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED _ AN ORDINANCE requiring the payment of license, excise and privilege | fees and taxes for the right and privilege to engage in or manage a business, profession or occupation, or to exercise certain privileges in the Town of Fort Walton, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1950, and thereafter; designating the methods of computing of certain of said licenses and fixing the amounts of others of said licenses; and requiring the display of the said licenses upon the issuance of same; and to provide penalties for the violation of this Ordinance, and to provide for the collection of all such licenses,excise and privilege fees and taxes. THE TOWN OF FORT WALTON DOES ORDAIN: SECTION 1. That all schedules and all ordinances designating schedules for the payment of license, excise and privilege taxes heretofore in force and effect in the Town of Fort Walton be and the same are hereby repealed, except Ordinance #77. SECTION 2. That effective August 2, 1950, no person, firm or corporation shall engage in or manage the business or occupational or profession, or exercise any privilege, mentioned and designated in this ordinance, unless a town license, excise and privilege taxes set opposite the said designation of business, profession, occupation or privilege as set forth in this Ordinance as follows: - For the purpose of this ordinance, the average value of the stock of goods of each merchant, storekeeper, or dealer shall be determined by the inventory — taken and declared in income tax returns to the United States at the beginning or end of the calendar or fiseal year proceeding the application for license, adding thereto the total purchases of the said merchant, storekeeper or dealer for such calendar or fiscal year, the total amount divided by twelve, and the result of such division shall he the amount of the average stock of goods = stocks of goods covered hy Special taxes to he exempt from inventory tax. This additional amusement tax shall he paid monthly by the 1Oth day of the month following each month of operation.
