AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5-49 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH,
FLORIDA TO ADOPT THE LATEST REVISION OF THE
NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE, 1971, AS AMENDED AND
REVISED AND PUBLISHED BY THE COMPSON CODE COMPANY
AND REPEALING THE CONFLICTING PROVISIONS OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON
BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION I. That Section 5-49 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Fort Walton Beach is hereby amended to read as
follows:
There is hereby adopted by the City, for the purpose
of establishing rules and regulations for the installation,
alteration and removal of electrical wiring, equipment and
appliances, that certain electrical code known as the National
Electrical Code, 1971 Edition, and said Code shall be adopted
in its entirety and shall be controlling in the installation
of all electrical wiring, appliances in the corporate limits of
the City.
SECTION II. Any provision of the City Code of
Ordinances which conflicts herewith is repealed.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect thirty
(30) days after its passage and approval by the Mayor.
