Budget limitations and shortfalls have impeded or prevented our ability to replace worn or decrepit items. Acquistion of necessary items will enhance operational safety and efficiency. Problems in the community creating the need for equipment are manifold: increasing calls for service create an increased demand on communication officers and make a smooth flow of information imperative, i.e. the need for new computer screens and headsets, increased risk out in the field make night sights and shield light critical for officers, citizen needs dictate they be able to speak with records personnel through protective glass via an intercom system, the volume of serious crimes creates a need for frequent communication between a detective and detective supervisor facilitated through the ear bud system and increased administrative workload creates the need for appropriate chairs and shredder. Project Summary (Scope of Work) The Fort Walton Beach Police Department would like to purchase and deploy the new equipment to multiple units within the organization who have needs particular to their job function. The computer screens will allow Communications Officers to view all of their information on one large screen per station for ease of use. Night sights will be installed on duty firearms of officers who work primarily after dark. The commercial shredder will facilitate the destruction of confidential documents by the staff assistant to the Chief of Police. The office chairs will replace wom ones that are in use by records clerks for long periods of desk work. The handgun lights will provide illumination for Tactical Response Team members who respond to high risk incidents. The intercom system will allow for communication between citizens and records clerks at the records public window. The shield light will be mounted to a ballistic shield and provide illumination for members of the Tactical Response Team on high risk missions. The head-sets will allow hands free dispatching for Communication Officers and are especially useful for people in training. The ear-bud system will allow information to be passed covertly from one officer to another. ae Application Ref # 2014-JAGD-1493 Section #2 Page 1 of 2 Contract 2014-JAGD-OKAL-3-E6- Rule Reference 11D-9.006 OCJG-005 (rev.
