BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: February 21, 2017 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Jason Autrey SUBJECT: 2017 Public Recreation Area Vendor Permit for American Martial Arts DEPARTMENT: Public Works BCC DISTRICT: 5 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Chick Mathis, owner of American Martial Arts, has submitted an application for a Public Recreation Area Vendor Permit to conduct martial arts class in the Seminole Community Center. BACKGROUND and ANALYSIS: Chick Mathis, owner of American Martial Arts, has met the requirements specified in Ordinance No. 13-07, County Recreation Areas, Section 8: Commercial Activity on Public Lands, to obtain a Public Recreation Area Vendor Permit. Granting this permit allows the requester to conduct martial art classes for a fee at the Seminole Community Center in accordance with any exceptions, restrictions, or provision the Board may impose. This is a new application. In addition to receipt of a Public Recreation Area Vendor Permit (PRAVP), a rental fee will be paid for the use of the Seminole Community Center. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove Chick Mathis, owner of American Martial Arts, a 2017 Public Recreation Area Vendor Permit. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends Board approval and issuance of a 2017 Public Recreation Area Vendor Permit 0003 for the calendar year of 2017 (17PRAVP0003) to Chick Mathis, owner of American Martial Arts.
