BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: November 15, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Zan Fedorak SUBJECT: Request approval of amendment letter from the Florida Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Services DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services amendment letter to the contract with ABL Management, Inc. BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: The County currently has a contract with ABL Management, Inc. to provide inmate food services. The current contract was amended on September 20, 2016 to a month-to-month basis to allow proper time to complete a procurement process to obtain a new vendor. The process is complete and a new contract has been signed by Trinity Services Group, Inc. A portion of the food that is served to inmates is provided through a grant from the Florida Department of Consumer Services. The granting agency must have confirmation of the transition date for the new vendor. The amendment letter from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will memorialize the date as December 15, 2016. Staff requests approval of the Amendment letter and also requests authorization for the Chairman to sign the document. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the amendment letter from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and authorize the Chairman to sign the document. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the amendment letter from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and authorize the Chairman to sign the document.
