BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: July 11, 2017 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Greg Kisela SUBJECT: Request to donate three (3) computers to Alternative Living Inc.. DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: ALL STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to donate three (3) computers with support equipment to Alternative Living Inc and if the request is approved, to remove them from the fixed asset ledger. BACKGROUND: Alternative Living , Inc., a non profit organization, has requested the County's assistance in obtaining computer equipment so they can document resident information with greater detail. The computers were previously declared surplus for disposal at auction. The information on the computers is on the attachment. The request has been reviewed and approved by the County Administrator, and since the request falls outside of the established County policy, it is being presented to the Board of County Commissioners for consideration. The donation is permissible under the Fl State Statute 274.05 which states: "the governmental unit may offer surplus property to other governmental units in the county or district for sale or donation or may offer the property to private non profit entities as defined by Fl Statute s. 273.01(3) by sale or donation". OPTIONS: Approve/Deny RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve donation of three (3) computers with support equipment to Alternative Living, Inc. and to remove them from the fixed asset ledger.
