RE: James Lee Park
Dear Amy:
Pursuant to the Yoga Destin request for a permit to conduct classes for a fee at James Lee Park, we have
the same concerns we have previously expressed in allowing any vendor, other than the Leasee, to conduct
business at a public park. We fear this permit may open the doors for others to ask the County to become
vendors on the beach.
In regards to Yoga Destin, they have been conducting the classes in the early morning which doesn’t
inhibit public usage as much as it would at other times. If the County decides to approve the request, we would
ask that they restrict the allotted time from sunrise to 9:00 a.m. to leave the parking spaces available for the
public for the majority of the day. They also need to carry the proper insurance, licensing, etc.
Again, we do not believe it is in the best interest of the park and public to allow outside vendors. We
fear this permit may open the doors for others to ask the County to become vendors on the beach. Please
contact me, Nick Sarra, at (850) 830-7634 with your concerns. We want Yoga Destin to be able to conduct their
classes but not if it opens the door to future problems.
Sincerely,
Wel daw
