SUBJECT: Joint Participation Assistance for Commuter Assistance Grant FY15 -
FDOT
DEPARTMENT: Growth Management
BCC DISTRICT: ALL
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Department of Growth Management requests that the Board
authorize the Chairman to sign the Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) FY 2015 Commuter
Assistance Grant Funding and to sign the Authorizing Resolution.
BACKGROUND: The Department of Public Works and the Department of Water and Sewer
each operate commuter vans with routes from Crestview and Niceville to Fort Walton Beach.
The grant funding will support operating cost for 7 vehicles and approximately 36 commuters
per day. Upon approval, FDOT will reimburse the county $10,000, or 50 percent of the costs to
operate commuter vehicles; whichever is less, through September 30, 2017.
RECOMMENDATION: The Department of Growth Management requests that the Board
authorize the Chairman to sign the attached JPA for FY 2014 Commuter Grant Funding and to
sign the Authorizing Resolution and all future grant documents during the term of the grant.
