carried on their winning tradition as they displayed their dance technique and showmanship at the 2006 Florida State Cheer and Dance Team Championships in Jacksonville, Florida where they won First Place in the School Dance- Varsity Hip- Hop Division, and were also named Grand Champions overall in the Hip- Hop Division; and WHEREAS, six 0 f the Champions were s elected a s A MERICAN ALL S TAR DANCERS and are invited to perform in the pre- game at the Pro Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii in February 2007; and WHEREAS, the Fort Walton Beach High School STARS Dance Team play an important part in the civic and community life of this area by giving our citizens a tremendous sense of pride. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mike Anderson, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Fort Walton Beach, do hereby urge the citizens of Fort Walton Beach to join me in congratulating all members of the FORT WALTON BEACH HIGH SCHOOL " STARS" DANCE TEAM* for their outstanding representation of our area. N CLAUA rI& WHEREAS, Pastor Larry Boldin, Pastor of Striving for Perfection Ministries, has played an active role in his community and his church, which is well- known for its outreach programs; and WHEREAS, Pastor Boldin has been an integral partner in the growth of the Governor' s Mentoring Initiative in Okaloosa County by establishing the Mentoring Telethon in collaboration with his congregation and Cox Communications; and WHEREAS, through the telethon, more than 500 mentors have been recruited to mentor students in Okaloosa County schools during the past two years; and WHEREAS, in addition to his role in creating a successful m entoring telethon, Pastor Boldin also spends time each week mentoring SEVEN boys at Wright Elementary School; and WHEREAS, due to his overwhelming commitment and service to the mentoring program, Pastor Boldin received the 2006 School- Based Mentoring Award of Excellence given by the Florida Mentoring Partnership and presented by Governor Jeb Bush on January 10, 2006. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mike Anderson, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Fort Walton Beach, do hereby extend our congratulations to PASTOR LARRY BOLDIN for receiving the 2006 School- Based Mentoring Award of Excellence from the Florida Mentoring Partnership and wish you continued success in your mentoring endeavors.
