BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: May 3, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Ed Schroeder SUBJECT: Quarterly Financial & Marketing Report DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development Department BCC DISTRICT: 2,4,5 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Presentation of quarterly reports on tourism promotion and marketing campaigns as required by Ordinance 14-08. BACKGROUND: Financial and marketing updates are provided monthly to the Tourist Development Council (TDC). The financial update aggregates budget to actual information for the tourist development department overall, as well as by categories within each bed tax percentage (the “level of restriction”). To present the most up-to-date information, data is provided as of April 19 (rather than March 31 quarter-end). The Tourist Development Council will review the Financial Update at its April 28 meeting. The marketing and sales updates presented during the quarter ending March 31 summarize the activities of the convention & visitors bureau, convention center, and advertising agency. The Tourist Development Council was apprised of these activities during the quarter. OPTIONS: n/a RECOMMENDATION: For informational purposes only; no action required.
