TASK ORDER 70— OKALOOSA COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DEPARTMENT PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE EAST COUNTY REPUMP STATION PROJECT Specific Work Tasks that may be authorized by the COUNTY ’s representative are presented below. 1.2 Hydraulic and Surge Analysis Work Task The CONSULTANT shall perform the following tasks: 1.2.1. Consultant shall develop and perform a hydraulic and surge analysis for the East County Repump Station and conveyance force main. The analysis shall be based on a peak flow of 3,000 gallon per minute (gpm) triplex centrifugal sanitary sewer pumping station and approximately 9.5 miles of 14 and 16-inch diameter polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sewer forcemain to convey wastewater flows currently received at the NVOC Regional WTP to Eglin Main Base PS. 1.2.2 The model will utilize existing and proposed profile drawing and surveys to determine pipe size, lengths and gradient to create overall model. The model will include terminations and connections required to convey the wastewater flows to the Eglin Main PS. 1.2.3. Scenarios will be run to determine expected operational pressures and surges for the new Repump Station and conveyance force mains. Information will be developed for various flow and operational conditions. Recommendation will be made for pump horsepower (Hp) and total discharge head (TDH), check valve operations, combination air release valve location and other necessary equipment and appurtenances. 1.2.4 Meet with COUNTY and force main design Consultant to discuss results and make recommendations for surge protection devices and pipe material improvements needed. Work Task 2. Engineering Design Services The specific Engineering Design Services that CONSULTANT agrees to furnish to the COUNTY for the PROJECT are described below. 2.1 Meetings CONSULTANT shall attend meetings as may be reasonably necessary, and as requested by the COUNTY, and provide general engineering assistance, consultation, and opinions regarding the PROJECT. 2.2 Design Scope Work Tasks The CONSULTANT shall perform engineering design services necessary to construct the new East County Repump Station. The conceptual, preliminary and final design services will be developed to construct the components of the PROJECT as described below. The specific scope of services that CONSULTANT shall provide in this work task is outlined below: 2.2.1 Conceptual Design (30%) 2.2.11 CONSULTANT will perform conceptual engineering design (30%) for the following construction: e The new 3,000 gpm triplex centrifugal pump station. The new pumps shall be design with non- clog horizontal mounted submersible pumps; discharge piping, isolation valves; redundant influent pressure control sensors, emergency by-pass assembly, new motor controls and power supply with variable frequency drives installed in a new temperature controlled block building. 2.2.1.2 Separate procurement documents will be prepared for the COUNTY to facilitate the purchase of specific equipment. It is understood the COUNTY will be constructing the recommended pump station piping, electrical and building foundation using its own forces, as supplemented by subcontractors directly contracted by the COUNTY. In addition, the COUNTY will contract by solicitation using contract documents developed by the CONSULTANT to construct a pre-engineered block building. 2.2.1.3 Schedule and conduct a 30% design meeting and field review with the COUNTY, including schematic site/civil and mechanical layout plan and anticipated power requirements. TASK ORDER 70— OKALOOSA COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DEPARTMENT PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE EAST COUNTY REPUMP STATION PROJECT 2.2.2 2.2.2.1 2.2.3.2 2.2.3.3 2.2.2.4 2.2.2.9 2.2.2.6 2.2.2.7 2.2.3 2.2.3.1 2.2.3.2 2.2.3.3 2.2.3.4 2.2.3.9 2.2.3.6 The intent of this engineering phase is to finalize general constructability preferences in conjunction with the COUNTY’S installation and operation requirements to ensure a final design that is satisfactory to the COUNTY Preliminary Design (60%) CONSULTANT will perform preliminary engineering design and prepare preliminary (60 percent design documents) for the PROJECT.
