BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: October 6, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Sunil Harman SUBJECT: Amendment Two to Qwest Lease DEPARTMENT: Airport BCC DISTRICT: 1 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Department of Airports requests approval by the Board of County Commissioners for Amendment Two to the Qwest Air Parts, Inc. Lease for additional apron space at the Bob Sikes Airport. BACKGROUND: On January 5, 2010, the Board approved the Qwest Air Parts, Inc. (Qwest) Lease to construct a hangar at the Bob Sikes Airport. Qwest focuses on aircraft dismantlement and refurbishment and resale of the resulting parts that are shipped to air carriers throughout the world. Qwest requests to lease 57,096 additional square feet of apron space at the Bob Sikes Airport in an effort to purchase additional aircraft and ultimately relocate their headquarters facility from Memphis to Crestview. Qwest is in compliance with all requirements in the original lease. The contract and lease internal coordination is attached along with Qwest's certificate of insurance. OPTIONS: Approve, Reject or Table. RECOMMENDATIONS: It is Staff's recommendation that the Board approve Qwest Air Parts, Inc.'s request to lease additional apron space at the Bob Sikes Airport.
