BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: April 2, 2013
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Elliot Kampert
SUBJECT: Final Contract Payment, Florida Defense Infrastructure Grant Program
DEPARTMENT: Growth Management
BCC DISTRICT: All
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Growth Management Department requests the Board approve
final payment to the University of Florida for the Conceptual Design & Preliminary Site
Planning for the Unmanned Air and Ground Vehicle Facility.
BACKGROUND: The Board approved an agreement on November 6, 2007 for a Defense
Infrastructure Grant (DIG) with Enterprise Florida, Inc. and a subagreement with the Economic
Development Council (EDC) to perform the work. On September 4, 2012 the Board amended
the existing subagreement to directly reimburse the University of Florida for work performed
under the DIG grant.
The purpose of the funding was to complete a site assessment and conceptual design of an
Unmanned Air and Ground Vehicle Test Facility at the University of Florida’s REEF location

Final invoice has been submitted by the University of Florida and the scope of work is complete.
Per the subagreement the EDC has (45) days to submit a final project report to Enterprise Florida
Inc (EFI).
RECOMMENDATION: The Growth Management Department recommends the Board to
approve final payment in the amount of $65,000.00 to the University of Florida for the
completion of the scope of work as stipulated in Contract C08-1581-GM/Grant # DIG 08-04.
The EDC will then be able to submit a final report for reimbursement of the grant funds.
