BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: April 7, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Elliot Kampert SUBJECT: Disposal of Damaged Vehicle DEPARTMENT: Growth Management BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Growth Management seeks authorization from the Board to dispose of a wrecked vehicle. BACKGROUND: On December 24, 2014 a 2012 Dodge Caravan operated by Okaloosa County Transit was involved in an accident. There were no injuries and all necessary reports were filed. A claim was submitted to the insurance company (National Interstate Insurance Company) which determined that the vehicle was a total loss and beyond repair (see attached letter). Insurance coverage is maintained by Okaloosa County Transit. Consistent with the insurance company letter, the Growth Management Department requests Board authorization to dispose of the 2012 Dodge Caravan and relinquish control to the National Interstate Insurance Company. OPTIONS: Grant or deny the Growth Management Department authorization to proceed with the disposition of the wrecked vehicle to the Insurance Company.
