ORDINANCE ~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY; AMENDING CHAPTER 3. 20, FIRE CODE, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES; RESOLVING CONFLICTS WITH FLORIDA FIRE PREVENTION CODE BY DELETING OBSOLETE AND INCONSISTENT LOCAL AMENDMENTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. Authority & Intent A. The authority for enactment of this ordinance is pursuant to section 2 of the City Charter, and section 166. 021( 1), Florida Statutes ( 2008). B. Section 633. 0215, Florida Fire Prevention Code, of the Florida Statutes, requires the State Fire Marshal to adopt every third year the Florida Fire Prevention Code which contains or incorporates by reference all fire safety laws and rules that pertain to and govern the design, construction, erection, alteration, modification, repair, and demolition of public and private buildings, structures, and facilities enforcement of such fire safety laws and rules. and the C.
