STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of the contract amendment and renewal for DRC
Emergency Services, LLC. (C14-2123-PW)
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On December 13, 2013, the County and DRC Emergency
Services, LLC. entered into a contract to provide emergency debris removal. This contract will
expire on September 30, 2016; however, the contract provides up to one (1) three (3) year
renewal. Staff has requested to exercise a one (1) year renewal option for the contract. Staff also
requests authorization for the Chairman to sign the document. Recent legislative action requires
that language regarding public records requests be added to all contracts that will be valid after
July 1, 2016. Staff is incorporating the language as an amendment and including the contract
renewal option within the document. Staff requests approval of the Amendment and renewal to
extend the contract to September 30, 2017 and also requests authorization for the Chairman to
sign the document.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the First Amendment and renewal and authorize the Chairman to
sign the document.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the First Amendment and renewal of
the contract with DRC Emergency Services, LLC. and authorize the Chairman to sign the
document.
