BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: October 20, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Paul Lawson SUBJECT: Memorandum of Understanding with Baker Water Systems DEPARTMENT: Public Safety BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of Memorandum of Understanding with Baker Water Systems for use of space on a water tank to enhance emergency radio communications. BACKGROUND: Fire Departments and Emergency Medical Services in the north end of Okaloosa County utilize a VHF radio system for emergency call dispatching/alerting and emergency radio communications. The northwest area of the County has been identified as an area needing emergency radio coverage enhancements to aid in the safety for citizens, visitors and first responders. The Baker Water Systems has agreed to allow Okaloosa County Public Safety to mount radio antenna and associated equipment on a water tower in the Baker community to enhance the emergency radio coverage for public safety purposes. The Memorandum of Understanding delineates responsibilities for both parties. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove RECOMMENDATIONS: Recommend approval of the Memorandum of Understanding.
