STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Provide an informational update on Florida counties' in-house and
outsourced legal services.
BACKGROUND: On March 5, 2013, the Board directed staff to survey other comparable sized
Florida counties regarding legal services including the cost budgeted/expended for in-house and
outsourced legal services. The Board also requested staff to draft an RFP for Tourist
Development Department legal services.
OPTIONS: N/A
RECOMMENDATIONS: Provide further direction to staff as necessary.
