STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval for Chairman to sign Task Order 170 “Chicago
Takeover”, contract C12-2007-TDC Peter A Mayer Advertising, in the amount of $533,955.
BACKGROUND: The FY 2015-16 Strategic Marketing Plan (SMP) was approved by the Board
on July 7, 2015. Included is $534K for a “Chicago Takeover” to target affluent neighborhoods
via movie theaters and transit during the months of November and December.
Since the SMP was developed, the agency has been able to negotiate an additional month of free
“added value” advertising. Movie theater and transit advertising will begin running a month
earlier, in October. Therefore, the agency must begin its work in the current fiscal year. FY
2014-2015 promotional reserve funds are available to fund agency activity in FY 2015.
Task Order 170 authorizes agency time from FY 2015 promotional reserves and FY 2016 budget
funds, as well as media and production costs from FY 2016 budget funds.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve Peter Mayer task order 170 “Chicago Takeover” in the
amount of $533,955 and authorize the Chairman to sign.
