RESOLUTION: 06- 12 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING MAXIMUM FEES TO BE CHARGED BY WRECKERS AND WRECKER SERVICES IN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH: Section I. That the City Council hereby establishes, pursuant to the terms of Ordinance 1671, the maximum fees to be charged by wreckers and wrecker services in the city limits of the City of Fort Walton Beach, as follows. Section II. A. The maximum fees to be charged for wreckers and wrecker services are as follows: Class A Class B Class C Tow Charge for All vehicles 115. 00 135. 00 230. 00 Hourly rate for waiting or working 85. 00 105. 00 230. 00 time on scene after the first 30 minutes, from dispatch Additional time at the scene: Waiting or labor on scene after the 50. 00 50. 00 50. 00 first 90 minutes from dispatch Landoll trailer, semi rollback or drop 325. 00 back trailer or truck (with one hour minimum 300. 00) Airbags ( with one hour minimum 1000. 00 1000. 00) Storage per day, after the first 6 20. 00 30. 00 hours from the time the vehicle or personal property is towed or removed. Motor vehicles carrying other vehicles ( boats, cars, trucks, aircraft, tractors, heavy equipment ATV s and motorcycles) that are securely attached shall be considered part of that vehicle' s load and no additional fee shall be charged. Section III. The City Council shall establish these maximum fees and charges for private property and rotation system towing and storage prior to December 31 of each year. The maximum fees and charges set forth in this resolution shall be effective upon adoption by the Council and during the following calendar year, until changed by subsequent resolution. The adopted fees shall be included in the City' s Comprehensive Fee Schedule. Section IV. Violation of any maximum towing and storage fees shall constitute a non- criminal offense and shall be grounds for suspension from the rotation system and automatic suspension of the owner's or operator' s privilege to engage in the business of private property towing.
