STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Bids were opened on May 30, 2013. Bids were received from two
(2) firms (see attached). Gulf Coast Traffic Engineers (Pensacola, FL) is the low bidder meeting
specifications in the amount of $143,004.60.
BACKGROUND: This project includes reworking road striping, upgrading signage and
extending guardrails on CR 188 (Airport Road). The project length is from Highway 85 to
Poverty Creek Road (4.378 miles). Funding is available in the FY 12/13 Budget.
OPTIONS: Approve or Reject.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends awarding to Gulf Coast Traffic Engineers, they
being low bidder meeting specifications in the amount of $143,004.60.
