STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to pay TracStar Systems Inc., for satellite
communication service in the amount of $3,420.00 for the period July 1, 2014-June 30, 2015.
BACKGROUND: TracStar is the sole provider of satellite communication services for the
Okaloosa County emergency communications trailer. The trailer provides communication
services during communication outages and after severe weather events. The trailer is available
to all local agencies for use as well as regional response if requested by the Florida Division of
Emergency Management. The invoice could not be processed for payment until the EMPA and
EMPG grant funds were made available in mid-July.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Recommend approval of direct payment for the invoice to TracStar
Systems, Inc.
