We did not receive the certification of preliminary taxable value until July We have 35 days from the date of the certification to set the tentative millage 9th. rate. Therefore staff has asked for a special Council meeting on Monday, Augustkf th at 5: 30 in order to do so. The assessed value is down from last year by 6% which includes the decrease in value associated with the tentative millage rate. Staff will provide a staff report along with the budget requesting a tentative millage rate. At this point, we are still trying to balance the budget, an arduous task at best. We plan to release the budget on July 31 or August 1 and budget meetings will take place the week of August 18th. Perhaps you' ll be home in time to participate; regardless, we' ll mail the budget info to you. Helen also I read on your Care Page that you were in the emergency room yesterday.
