SUBJECT: Council Summer Schedule

Background:
1. 1 Over the last several years, City Council has set a vacation schedule for the
summer months which typically includes canceling Council Meetings
during the month of July to allow staff to finish budget preparations. This
item is placed on the agenda to provide the Council an opportunity to
determine if it wants to set a vacation schedule for this summer.
2. Discussion:
2. 1 If Council determines that they wish to set a summer vacation schedule
allowances must be made for setting the tentative millage rate. Typically,
staff receives the Certification of Taxable Value from the Tax Assessor on
or about June 30. Under TRIM legislation, the City must set a tentative
millage rate within 35 days of receipt of the Certification of Property Value.
