STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request BCC approval of the negotiated contract for Design Services
for the new Sheriff's Building in Shalimar.
BACKGROUND: On December 17th, 2013, the Board authorized advertising an RFQ for design
services for the Sheriff's proposed new building in Shalimar. The proposal period ended and the
proposals received by County Purchasing were distributed to the members of the Selection
Committee. The Selection Committee members met on February 11, 2014 and selected DAG as
the top choice from among those submitting proposal.
At the BCC meeting held on February 18th, 2014 the Board authorized staff to enter into
negotiations with DAG for the Design Service Contract on the proposed new Sheriff's building.
Negotiations were conducted and DAG agreed to perform all required Design Services (draft
contract attached) for the sum of $80,000.
RECOMMENDATIONS: (FM) Request BCC approval of the negotiated contract for Design
Services in the amount of $80,000 for the new Sheriff's Building in Shalimar.
