SUBJECT: Destin Water Users Lease Agreement
DEPARTMENT: Airport

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: A proposed Lease Agreement with Destin Water Users, Inc. for the
use of property at the Destin/Ft. Walton Beach Airport is being presented to the Board of County
Commissioners for approval.
BACKGROUND: Destin Water Users have been using property at the Destin/Ft. Walton Beach
Airport since January 1, 1987 for the purposes of effluent disposal and treatment. With the
current FAA approved lease agreement, Destin Water Users will now pay the County an annual
ground lease fee based on appraised Fair Market Value (FMV) as mandated by FAA, for the
non-aviation usage of the subject property.
OPTIONS: Approve, Reject or Table.
RECOMMENDATIONS: It is Staff's recommendation that the Board approve this lease as
described above.
