NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Okaloosa County, Florida, on May 20, 2014 at 9:00 A.M., or soon thereafter, at the County Commissioners meeting room, Water & Sewer Annex, 1804 Lewis Turner Blvd., 3rd Floor, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida will hold a hearing to discuss the County’s proposal to construct the East County Force Main and Repump Station Project using Okaloosa County Water and Sewer Department (OCWS) staff and equipment. The public hearing shall constitute the public meeting as required by section 225.20, Fla. Stat. The purpose of the public meeting is to consider whether it is in the public’s best interest to perform the project using the local government’s own services, employees, and equipment. The scope of work generally consists of the construction of a new 20 inch diameter sewer force main (totaling approximately 6.7 miles in length) and a new 4.2 million gallon per day sewer repump station. The estimated cost of the design-build project using OCWS staff is $4,169,312.14. ALL INTERESTED PERSONS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND AND BE HEARD REGARDING THE PUBLIC HEARING. The proposal and cost estimate breakdown may be inspected by the public at Okaloosa County Water & Sewer, 1804 Lewis Turner Blvd., 3rd floor, Engineering Office, 850-651-7504. If any person decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matter considered at these hearings, such person will need a record of the proceeding and may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. Okaloosa County adheres to the American Disabilities Act and will make reasonable modifications for access to these hearings upon request. Requests may be made to the Water & Sewer offices described above and must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the hearings in order to provide the requested service.
