BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: April 5, 2016
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Tracy Stage
SUBJECT: Timberview Helicopters, Inc. Lease Renewal
DEPARTMENT: Airport
BCC DISTRICT: 5
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Airports Department requests the Board of County
Commissioners (Board) approve Timberview Helicopters', Mr. Justin Johnson, lease renewal for
sightseeing tours at the Destin Executive Airport.
BACKGROUND: On January 21, 2014, the Board approved the Lease for Timberview
Helicopters to conduct sightseeing tours from the Destin Executive Airport. Mr. Johnson has
requested to renew the lease prior to the expiration date of January 31, 2016. The contract and
lease renewal documents were sent to Mr. Johnson in advance; however, due to circumstances
out of the control of airport staff, the renewal paperwork was not returned prior to the expiration
date of the lease. The Airports Department is requesting the Board authorize the County
Administrator and Chairman to sign the contract and lease renewal paperwork for Timberview
Helicopters' lease renewal. The contracts and lease internal coordination sheet is attached along
with Timberview Helicopters' certificates of insurance.
OPTIONS: Approve, Reject or Table.
RECOMMENDATIONS: It is Staff's recommendation that the Board approve Timberview
Helicopters lease renewal as described above and authorization for the Chairman to sign the
lease renewal.
