SUBJECT: Sale of Surplus Vehicles and Equipment

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Fleet Operations seeks authorization by the Board to sell surplus
vehicles and equipment.
BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS: The County has twelve pieces of surplus vehicles and
equipment ready for disposal. Disposition documentation has been completed for transfer of the
vehicles and equipment to Fleet Operations. Fleet Operations requests Board authorization to
sell these vehicles and equipment through our contract with JM Wood Auctions in Montgomery,
AL on December 4 & 5, 2013. Our contract number with JM Wood is #C08-1663-FLT and
expires on May 31, 2014.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove Fleet Operations to proceed with the sale of the surplus
vehicles and equipment through JM Wood Auctions.
RECOMMENDATION: Grant authorization for Fleet Operations to sell surplus vehicles and
equipment through JM Wood Auctions.
