READING DAFT; 1st p ,S 2nd ORDINANCE 2042 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSITION OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 100 READY AVENUE NW, DESCRIBED PARK, LLC, AND SOUTHEASTERN INDUSTRIAL HEREIN, TO AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING CLOSURE BY THE MAYOR, CITY MANAGER, CITY ATTORNEY, AND CITY CLERK; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City Council previously deemed 100 Ready Avenue NW Property") as surplus property which encompassed approximately 1. 84 acres of land and advertised it for sale; WHEREAS, On October 13, 2020, City Council, based on recommendation from its consultant, adopted Ordinance No. 2039 to convey a portion of the Property in the amount of 50,600 to Southeastern Industrial Park, LLC; WHEREAS, Southeastern Industrial Park, LLC now requests to purchase the remaining portion of the Property, approximately 0.90 acres; Code Ordinances, Section City of Fort Walton Beach of WHEREAS, pursuant to 2.00.05, the City Council must convey any surplus real property via ordinance; and WHEREAS, the remainder of the Property will be transferred to Southeastern Industrial Park, LLC for the purchase price of $25, 000 upon adoption of the Ordinance transferring the property on second reading and closing and recording of the deed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. AUTHORITY & INTENT. The authority for enactment of this ordinance is contained in Section 2.00.05 of the Code of Ordinances. The City intends to transfer City-owned property located at 100 Ready Avenue NW to Southeastern Industrial Park, LLC. The City has no future need for the property and has obtained an independent fair-market appraisal. The property is an approximately 0.90-acre parcel located at 100 Ready Avenue NW and has Parcel ID No. 08-2S-24- 0000-0002-0000. SECTION 2. PROPERTY DESCRIPTION. The property located at 100 Ready Avenue NW to be transferred consists of the following parcel: THE NORTH 50.00 FEET OF THE SOUTH 150.00 FEET OF THE SOUTH HALF OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER LYING WEST SECTION OF WEST 8,RIGHT-OF-WAY TOWNSHIP 2 READY AVENUE ( 80' RIGHT- OF- WAY), OF RANGE 24 WEST, OKALOOSA COUNTY, FLORIDA. SOUTH,  SECTION 3. DISPOSITION OF CITY-OWNED PROPERTY The disposition of the City-owned property at 100 Ready Avenue NW will occur via execution by both parties of a Sales Contract and recording of a Special Warranty Deed as attached( Exhibit A). SECTION 4. FINDINGS. The City Council of Fort Walton Beach finds that the contract award is made based upon consideration of best price and utilization of the property and development for uses benefiting the City and its citizens.
