BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: April 21, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Stefan Vaughn SUBJECT: Inmate Commissary Request for Proposals DEPARTMENT: Corrections BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Okaloosa County Department of Corrections requests authorization to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking qualified vendors to provide Inmate Commissary services and to establish a selection committee to review proposal submissions. We recommend the committee include Major of Jail Operations Stefan Vaughn, Inmate Commissary Manager Audie Beadle, Inmate Programs Manager Tammy Matthews, ACR Program Technician Elisa MacKendree, and Systems and Networks Manager Donna Lawler. BACKGROUND: Revenue generated by the Inmate Commissary supports the Prisoner Benefit fund. These funds are used to provide programs for inmates, to include religious services, recreational activities, etc. OPTIONS: Approve Disapprove RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends Board approval of the request to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit qualified vendors to provide Inmate Commissary services.
