SUBJECT: Ground Transportation Policy

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: This agenda item seeks approval by the Board of County
Commissioners to schedule a public hearing to consider adopting the attached ordinance which
repeals and replaces the current Ground Transportation Policy.
BACKGROUND: On April 26, 1977, the Board adopted Ordinance 77-11, which established
rules and regulations governing the operations at the Airport. Attachment #1 to Ordinance 77-11
was a Ground Transportation Policy.
On June 19, 2007, the Board adopted Ordinance 07-29, which amended Ordinance 77-11 as well
as the Ground Transportation Policy.
In reviewing the Ground Transportation Policy, we found significant changes that needed to be
made. Due to the extent of changes being proposed, we recommend that the Board repeal the
existing Ground Transportation Policy and replace it in its entirety with the attached Policy. A
red-lined version has been included, which shows the proposed changes against the Ground
Transportation Policy amended in 2007.
OPTIONS: Approve, Disapprove or Table.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve scheduling a public hearing to consider an ordinance
repealing and replacing the Ground Transportation Policy.
