SUBJECT: Bid Award for Del Cerro II Water Supply Well
DEPARTMENT: Purchasing

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Bids were received February 7, 2013. Three (3) bids were
received. Layne Christenson Company, Inc. (Pensacola, FL) is the low bidder meeting
specifications. (See attached tabulation).
BACKGROUND: A new potable water supply well is in the County's Capital Improvement
Plan and part of the Supplemental Water Supply Program. Layne has completed prior work for
the County and all their work has been exemplary. Funds are available in the budget for this
project.
OPTIONS: Award or Reject.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff along with Polyengineering, Inc has reviewed the bids and
recommends awarding to Layne Christensen they being low bidder meeting specifications for a
total cost of $934,895.00 and authorize the Chairman to sign the subsequent contract.
