SUBJECT: Shalimar Project - Elevation/Design Option Direction
DEPARTMENT: Facility Maintenance

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board direction with regard to elevation and design concept
for the proposed new building at the former annex site to move forward for further development.
BACKGROUND: The design-build contractor has taken the general direction provided by the
BCC and inputs from the members of the working group and translated that guidance into some
design scenarios. Further direction is needed at this time to select the elevation (exterior
appearance), configuration (building shape and number of floors), and other elements of the
project, so that a more refined scheme may be brought to the Board at one or more future
meetings, ultimately for final approval. That final scheme will spawn the production of
construction drawings from which the building will be constructed. (Presentation of schemes)
RECOMMENDATIONS: Request Board direction with regard to elevation and design concept
for the proposed new building at the former annex site to move forward for further development.
