Example of Coir Logs The proposed project at Longwood Park parcel will look similar to this site. The above pictures show a site with coir logs immediately after the logs were installed (left) and approximately 4 months after installation, as well as a side view for depth. The logs are installed in shallow (2 inch) trenches, and pine wedges are hammered in on either side of the logs for stabilization. Coir twine is then laced through the logs and to each of the stakes to anchor the logs. The wedges begin to break down and can be removed after 6 months, and the logs break down within 2-3 years depending on the site. All materials involved are 100% biodegradable.
