Curry SUBJECT: Okaloosa County Gas District BOD County Representative DEPARTMENT: County Administrator BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board consideration of the appointment of a new County representative to the Okaloosa County Gas District Board of Directors (OGDBOD). BACKGROUND: The Okaloosa Gas District Board of Directors was formed by legislative act in 1953 and initially included the municipalities of Crestview, Fort Walton Beach, Niceville, and Valparaiso. This Act was amended in 1986 to include a representative of the unincorporated portions of Okaloosa County, to be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. The representative re-appointed by the BCC in October 2010 began his current term in January 2011 has tendered his resignation after receiving an appointment to represent the City of Fort Walton Beach on the OGDBOD. He is resigning effective January 31, 2013 and with approximately two years remaining on his appointed term. Related information is attached.
