BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: September 2, 2014 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Don Vanderhoek SUBJECT: Cox Communications PRI Commercial Services Agreements DEPARTMENT: Information Systems BCC DISTRICT: ALL STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Board is requested to grant permission to enter into Commercial Services Agreements with Cox Communications for our Primary Rate Interface (PRI) lines and authorize the Chairman to sign each Agreement. BACKGROUND: Information Systems would like to extend three of four Cox Communications PRIs for a period of three years; the fourth PRI will be disconnected. Each PRI will cost $400 per month plus the added surcharges. The total for two of the Agreements will be $454.45 per month and the total for the third Agreement will be $469.45 per month. The difference of $15.00 per month for the third Agreement is the DID 100 Number Block for the 50 2nd Street, Shalimar location. A one-time cost rate sheet is attached for work performed by Cox employees during the life of the agreement. This rate sheet is current costs and may fluctuate during the contract life. There may be additional agreements, for added services, that we request permission to sign in accordance with Purchasing policies. The Agreements have been through the Purchasing review process. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends approval of the three Commercial Services Agreements with Cox Communications and requests the Board authorize the Chairman to sign each of the three Agreements.
