SUBJECT: Proclamation Okaloosa County Correctional Employees Week

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Okaloosa County Department of Corrections (DOC) requests that
the week of May 5-12, 2013 be proclaimed as "Okaloosa County Correctional Employees
Week".
BACKGROUND: The Okaloosa County DOC is staffed with dedicated professionals who face
daily challenges of dealing with individuals charged with misdemeanor and felony crimes. The
officers and staff take great pride in their effort to protect the citizens of Okaloosa County, and
because of their exemplary service, the Okaloosa County DOC has been recognized with the
accreditation of the facility by the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission and the
National Commission on Correctional Health Care.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve proclaiming the week of May 5-12, 2013 as Okaloosa
County Correctional Employees Week
