SUBJECT: TDC Membership Selection Process

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of the TDC member selection process and
appointment of members of the selection committee.
BACKGROUND: The TDC is comprised of three elected officials (one member from the Board
and two elected municipal officials) and six qualified individuals from the community who serve
staggered, four-year terms. The following process is proposed for filling three non-elected seats
with terms expiring September 30, 2015:
1. Post notice and application form on the County’s website seeking qualified individuals
interested in serving on the Council.
2. The TDD Director shall accept applications through 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2015.
3. A selection committee comprised of the Board Liaison to the TDC, TDD Director, and
TDC Chairman shall review the applications.
4. The selection committee’s recommendations will be presented to the Board for final
approval in September.
5. The newly appointed TDC members will begin their four-year terms on October 1, 2015.
OPTIONS: Approve or Disapprove
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the TDC member selection process as presented and appoint
the aforementioned members of the selection committee.
